I
think this was the first gig I ever drove to - quite stressful -
not helped by the then girlfrien telling me everything I was doing
wrong. I think we broke up soon afterwards - or we may have already
broken up and this was the 'contractual obligation' gig (ie. I'd
already bought the tickets). |

I
think I saw more plectrums thrown to the audience at this one gig
than over the course of the rest of the year. When I saw a photo
of support band China in Kerrang! I almost fell off my seat - one
of them seemed to my double. |

Due
to a delayed RailAir bus and BA letting somebody else called Anderson
onto a fully booked flight I had to wait for the next one - missing
all bar about the last half hour of the show. To say I was pissed
off would be an understatement.. |

As
I was in town for the Dio show the previous day I hung around in
the hope of picking up a ticket for this show (not having bought
one in advance). Luckily I found somebody selling one and this time
had a front row seat in the Circle. I quite liked the debut Alannah
Myles album, the single Black Velvet in particular, but live she
didn't really cut it, black velvet costume or not. |

A
very Judas Priest sounding band but none the worse for it. Powerful

The
Back Street Symphony Part 2 Tour. Looking at the date list at ThunderPoint
I note this was the third time thunder played Edinburgh and the
second time at the Playhouse. I assume work prevented me from attending
the previous Playhouse show.I'd discovered the blues rock of the
album of the tour earlier in the year and the show backed up the
music with a solid performance. |
