A real
rock show, probably the biggest stageshow I'd seen at a gig so far.
Waysted were, well, waysted, but Maiden ruled supreme. |

set from the main act. I don't remember anything about the support
but we may have arrived late, a mate driving me at breakneck speed
from Elgin that evening. |

I never
could be dragged along to a Pallas show before this. I almost made
it to the Capitol show in the summer, just before Euan Lowson left
the band, but returning from a field trip that day, and with no
way back to Elgin after the show, I gave it a miss. This gig must
have been one of the first Alan Reed played with the band and was
certainly the first I witnessed. |

A band
I've never quite got into album wise but live they were rockier
(in places) and I remember being quite imopressed with the show.
We all sat on the floor for the show, real hippy stuff. |

The support
were famous mainly for their drummer, Jason Bonham, son of Led Zeppelin's
John. They played a competent support set of just over half an hour,
nothing special and I believe they broke up not too long afterwards.
Meat Loaf was entertaining and a showman. True, the lyrics are pretty
basic but he put so much into them that they seemed much better
than the cod American teen love trash they really are. Some tracks
were dragged out rather too far though both theatrically and musically. |
