GIGS THAT I'VE ATTENDED - 1988
Any links on this page lead to reviews, memories, ticket stubs, photographs and other memorabilia from my collection.
The idea is to have a page for each concert eventually - when I find time to trawl trough the archives.
If anyone reading this was at any of these concerts and would like to jog my memory then feel free to contact me.

£ A complete change of band since the last time I saw the band - and not for the better in my opinion. After the first night I wished I hadn't bought tickets for both nights.

£ Worse still was the fact that Marillion were playing in Aberdeen tonight and that was pretty much where I would rather have been.

£ I managed to blag a front row ticket on the day of the show from someone that couldn't make the gig. I wasn't a big Plant (or Zep) fan but the chance was too good to pass up. My first, and most ingrained, memory of the show is how short Plant was and how baggy and wrinkled his jeans were. And so another rock legend crumbled in my mind. His voice was good as were the band though and I actually went out and bought a Plant CD after this.

£ 'Live in the Flesh' tour in support of the Raise your Fist and Yell tour. More theatrics and less 'common' classic tracks but still a great stageshow.

£ This was my last gig as a resident of Edinburgh. Support was a Welsh good band the singer of which would feature in the mid 1990's section of this list fronting Skin. Saxon were again Saxon, enjoyable but probably not quite as much as the first time.

£ A dull, misty and damp day near RAF Leuchars in, not surprisingly, Fife. This was the last Marillion show with Fish and there was no need for dry ice or smoke here - the haar rolling in did that job nicely. Marillion had been recording material for their next album in a nearby castle but this all fell apart soon after this show. Some of the tracks recorded then appear on the double remastered Clutching at Straws CD and provide an interesting look at the how the pre Hoghart era Marillion ideas were split into Marillion and solo Fish material after the split.
